Help SAVE LONG ISLAND hotel - Rickmansworth's only hotel is in threat of being demolished to be replaced with 65 flats & yellow bricked townhouses. Help save this historic building (been in existence since prior to 1888) and valuable hotel for our community.

The dreaded revised planning application has arrived!
More to follow - but as suspected a new application has been submitted - this time only 5 storeys high! In our opinion - it still looks hideous, and even the attempts to use yellow bricks on Nightingale Place so the buildings are sympathic with the surrounding victorian, red brick conservation area, doesn't cut the mustard - just looks like it!

Received the brochure this morning - no link or info on any of the websites of the companies stated on the brochure or on the Council Planning website. The brochure does not give comprehensive details of the revised scheme. No access from Nightingale Place. Lower levels overlooking Nightingale Place. 'Local' materials.Still looks all glass and concrete (with a little bit of yellow added!)Just trying to picture the glare caused by the glass on the south aspect and it's affect.
