How can Long Island NOT be classed as an historic building?

This is a postcard availalbe in Tames the stationers on the High St, circa early 1900's

This is an extract from a book available in Three Rivers Museum on the High Street.  The caption states that the licence for selling alcohol was granted in 1888, so the hotel must have been in existence prior to this.

Have your say....

You will probably all have received the notification on the Conservative Party newsletter 'In Touch' - of the plans to demolish what was The Victoria Hotel - now Long Island.

We will post a draft letter under the template tab soon - but in the meantime you can write to:

The Planning Department
Three Rivers House
Northway
Rickmansworth
WD3 1RL

Quote reference: 12/1794/FUL - demolition of existing hotel and restaurant and construction of 92 residential units.

It is REALLY important that you write as hopefully this will halt the planned demolition.  If it is demolished, there is no chance of us retaining an hotel for Rickmansworth.
